- eMox uses electrooculargraphy (EOG), an electrical signal that is generated by the movement of an eye following an object on the screen.
- Optokinetic nystagmus (OKN) sawtooth waveforms will exist in EOG signal (figure below) if the objects are visible to patients. By varying the object size, luminance contrast, or moving speed, the patient’s vision acuity and amblyopia condition can be assessed.
- eMox is equipped with “Dynamic Velocity Threshold Filter” (DVTF), an AI pattern recognition algorithm and patent pending technology, that can identify OKN.
- The patent application for DVTF is currently pending in the US Patent and Trademark Office and in the China National Intellectual Property Administration.
